The Arabesque® Wooden Rustic Wall Art or Home Decor Accent With Arabic Kufic Calligraphy And Arabesque Design of "YA HUSAYN"

This beautiful laser-engraved and metallic leaf plaque is a prime example of the art inspired by the Shia Muslim religious holiday of Ashura. Ashura is a day in which Shia Muslims remember the martyrdom of Imam Husayn, the grandson of the prophet Muhammad who was martyred in Karbala Iraq in his stance for justice and for Islam's perseverance. Imam Husayn's sacrifice in Karbala is remembered by Muslims worldwide and is an inspiration for Islamic virtual culture historically and even today.

We have created a beautiful laser-etched and hand-painted home or office decor accent piece to remind us of Imam Husayn and Ashura. It is "Ya Husayn," a chant delivered by Shia Muslims around the world on the occasion of Ashura. The Kufic laser-etched inscription is surrounded by a luminescent metallic leaf finish to represent the spiritual illumination this day bestows on its observers.

The Kufic inscription and arabesque design is based on Dawoodi Bohra visual culture and their artistic renderings of calligraphy. On the occasion of Ashura, the Dawoodi Bohra Muslim community commemorates the martyrdom of Imam Husayn worldwide in a ten-day spiritual gathering called Ashara, and reserved for the remembrance of Imam Husayn. Along with audible chants of Ya Husayn echoing in the halls of these gatherings, the Dawoodi Bohra community also decorates their houses of worship with embroidered flags with similar inscriptions as has been engraved on the plaque here.
