Throughout history, the hare has been considered a lucky animal in many cultures and a bringer of good luck and prosperity. This is why it appeared on so many designs in the ancient and medieval world. The inspiration for the hare that we have chosen in this design comes from an 11th century ceramic bowl from Fatimid Egypt which has this hare motif surrounded by an arabesque design. This art has been embellished with decorative glass fragments and framed so it is ready to hang or display.
