The Arabesque brings you stylish and elegant wood, stone, and metal pendant featuring historical art. This pendant's design was inspired by an arabesque motif which evoke a certain level of peace and tranquility. The hare was a common motif used by artists in the historical world. It was considered a symbol of luck and prosperity in many cultures and the frequent appearance of the hare in Islamic art demonstrates that this cute animal retained it's lucky streak within the artistic culture of the this time period. The arabesque and hare design for this pendant has been engraved with the artwork from a ceramic dish made between 1500 and 1550 in Tabriz, Iran. At that time, Tabriz was in the middle of the trade crossroads between China and Turkey and the style of the artwork which inspired this design invokes both Iranian and Chinese artistic tastes of the time period.
Also you can wear this pendant as a good luck charm. Throughout history, the hare has been considered a lucky animal in many cultures and a bringer of good luck and prosperity. This is why it appeared on so many designs in the ancient and medieval world.
The pendant comes on a labradorite nugget 24k gold plated rosary bead necklace. The chain is 24" but it can be adjusted if you would like a shorter length. Please let us know when you check out.
